Pregnancy week 2

Your baby this week

There is still no baby this week, but your body is approaching ovulation. An egg is maturing inside the ovary and the uterine lining is thickening to prepare a welcoming home. Around the end of this week ovulation occurs, releasing the egg during your most fertile window. If the egg meets sperm, fertilization can begin soon after.

Your body this week

You might notice signs of ovulation such as clearer, stretchy discharge or a slight rise in body temperature. Some women feel a small twinge on one side of the lower abdomen. Every body is different, so do not worry if you notice no obvious signs at all.

Tips for this week

If you are trying to conceive, the days around ovulation are the most favorable. Keep taking your folic acid, prioritize good sleep, and stay well hydrated. Include iron-rich foods and leafy greens to nourish your body.
