Sun Protection Factor (SPF)
SPF, or sun protection factor, is a rating that tells you how well a sunscreen shields your skin from the sun's burning UVB rays each and every day out.
If there is one habit worth keeping forever, it is wearing sunscreen, and SPF is the little number that guides you. It measures how much protection a product gives against UVB, the rays that cause sunburn and, over time, premature ageing and dark spots. A higher number means more shielding, but no sunscreen blocks everything, so reapplying matters just as much as the number.
Make it easy on yourself with these gentle habits:
- Choose at least SPF 30 for everyday wear
- Reapply every two hours when you are out in the sun
